The Latest Version of the VFind™ Security Toolkit (VSTK)
All versions of CyberSoft's VSTK Family of computer security toolkits fall under this umberella - VSTK, VSTK/P, and VSTK/E all share the same basic tools; therefore, this version number applies to all the
toolkits in CyberSoft's Vfind™ Security Toolkit line. Customers with current Maintenance and Support contracts are eligible
to upgrade to the latest version for free.
What's new in version 176
- Support for the following platforms has been added:
- Redhat-5.3-linux-2.6.18-x86_64 (CentOS)
- Debian4.0-linux-2.6.24-x86_64
- Debian-lenny-sid-linux-2.6.24-i386 (Ubuntu v.8.04)
- FreeBSD 7.0
- Support for the following platforms will be available later:
- AIX-4.3.3 RS6000
- Mac OS X-10.4-i386
- OSF-1-3.2-Alpha
- FreeBSD-4.8
- Here is a brief summary of the changes for each component in this
release of the toolkit. If a component is not listed here, then it is
unchanged in this release.
- vfind - Users can turn on/off GenPoly (GenPoly.1 and/or GenPoly.2) from vfind scanning through changing a flag (pair_count_enable-> 1/0) in the $VSTK_HOME/data/vfind/emu.cf file.
- uad - UAD can handle a zip archive file which is larger than 2 GB (does not apply to the IRIX 5.3 and OSF Alpha platforms).
uad checks the maximum file-name length that can be supported by the file-system, and displays a warning message if the input file-name length exceeds the limitation (except .tar file) (does not apply to the IRIX 5.3 and OSF Alpha platforms).
An inconsistent error when working with a zip file which compressed more than two files has been fixed.
An inconsistent error when working with a file which is multiply compressed with tar, gzip (gz) and zip archives at the same time has been fixed.
- vtest - An inconsistent error during the installation process has been fixed.
